Waterloo Biofilter® Systems Inc. is a privately owned Canadian company and its technology was developed in 1991. We manufacture and market high quality sewage treatment systems that have been installed in nine states, nine provinces and territories, Ireland, Gabon, and Korea. In Ontario, we have installed over 2000 Residential Biofilter® Systems. We have also installed Biofilters® at Clublink Golf Courses, Campgrounds, Schools, and Truck Stops.

The Waterloo Biofilter® can be used in greenhouse applications, since effluent from these systems are generally high in unwanted chemicals such as nitrogen and phosphorus. The Waterloo Biofilter® technology has the capability to remove these substances in a cost-effective manner.

Our system can be used in a variety of settings, including bedrock, heavy clay, high ground water table, and nitrogen sensitive areas. Due to its small footprint, it is ideal for properties that have limited space.

The technology has developed very rapidly throughout the years and is continuing to change to suit the needs of all our customers. Currently, our research and development department is finalizing the Flatbed Biofilter®, and our team in Southwestern Ontario is testing how the Coarse Sand Area Bed compares to the conventional Filter Bed.
