Waterloo Biofilter Achieves BNQ Certification
Waterloo Biofilter Systems Inc. is pleased to announce the successful completion of product certification to the CAN/BNQ 3680-600 Onsite Residential Wastewater Treatment Technologies and NQ 3680-910 Stand-Alone Wastewater Treatment Systems for Isolated Dwellings standards. The Waterloo Biofilter system achieved a Class B-IV certification under CAN/BNQ 3680-600 and Class V certification under NQ 3680-910. Testing was completed using temperature condition b) of the standards where the influent wastewater is heated to a minimum temperature of 10°C. This certification was also achieved during one of the coldest winters on record in Quebec!
The BNQ standard is a rigorous 12-month program that includes stress testing as well as seasonal reliability testing performed in climactic conditions representative of Northern Ontario. The first six months of the test mimic NSF Standard 40 loading rates and stress tests, while the latter six months are conducted using working parent loading rates. These standards ensure that only the most robust and efficient onsite wastewater treatment systems with proven performance in cold-weather are installed in Ontario and Quebec. By achieving Class B-IV and Class V certifications at temperature condition b) the Waterloo Biofilter system has once again demonstrated its unparalleled performance.
